A study on follicle analysis by ultrasound image analysis

(in English) Vitro fertilization is one of the most common infertility treatment. In the vitro fertilization, ovarian follicles are collected by paracentesis using ultrasonic devices. However, there exists many empty follicles, which do not have ovum in ovarian follicle. The collection of empty follicles imposes physical and financial burden on patient. If we can discriminate empty follicle from ovarian follicle with ovum, we can relieve the burdens, but it is impossible to observe ovum from ultrasonic images. In this report, we are going to analyze ovarian follicle images and apply machine learning method to distinguish whether a follicle have ovum or not.
