Revisiting kQ-product Theory for Wireless Power Transfer -- Derivation from ratio of dissipation to incident power --
Ikuo Awai (Ryutech) WPT2016-44
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The maximum condition of power transfer efficiency for a linear reciprocal 4-terminal circuit is obtained directly from the dissipation power of the load. The result coincides with that for the load side derived by the conjugate matching theory, without demanding anything to the source side. Since it is clarified that the efficiency is maximized even when the primary resonator in the source side does not resonate at the same frequency with that in the load side, the intentional inductive detuning of the input impedance for the improvement of source efficiency is also justified in terms of transfer efficiency. The maximum value for the power transfer is calculated by substituting the maximum condition into the ratio or dissipation in the load to the incident power, and it is given by the same equation as before.
