It is known shear modulus of fibrotic liver tissues becomes larger than that of normal tissues. Many approaches to evaluate the degeneration degree of liver by generating shear wave in tissues have been propose. However, it has been reported that there is a difference between measured results of shear wave speed by ultrasound diagnosis apparatus which are used in clinical sites. In this study, we observed displacement of generated shear wave in phantom by using radiation force and estimated the shear modulus of the phantom. Using high speed scan of ultrasound probe, we measured shear wave displacement by phase of demodulated echo signals and visualized shear wave front.We evaluated relationship between shear wave speed and excited vibration speed.When excited vibration speed was small,displacement become small and shear wave frequency also become slightly small.Then, using three phantoms having different shear modulus, we examined how the difference of shear modulus affects the measured results of shear wave speed.When shear modulus of the phantom was large, displacement become small and shear wave frequency become large. Shear wave speeds were close to nominal values in all phantoms. However, it was obsered that shear wave speed became larger as a measuring depth from the surface of a phantom became large. We got fundamental data to estimate the effect of excited vibration waveform on the measurment of shear modulus. |
