The coherent Ising machine (CIM) is attracted attention as one of most effective Ising computing architecture for solving large scale optimization problems because of its multi-scalability and high-speed computation ability. There is a big difficulty to implement the Ising computation in the CIM because theories and techniques accumulated on the basis of classical thermodynamic equilibrium Ising spin systems cannot be directly applied to the CIM. We now have to reconstruct these to adapt to the CIM. Here we focus on the ferromagnetic model and the finite loading Hopfield model, which are canonical models having the common mathematical structure with almost all of other Ising computations. We derive macroscopic equations to capture non-equilibrium phase transitions in these models. Statistical mechanical methods developed here become the basis for constructing evaluation methods for other Ising computation models. |
