It is important for high-energy physics to improve particle detectors in order to discover more complex and rare events. However, there are many difficulties such as improvement of accuracy, increase of required bandwidth and energy consumption and monitoring of each detector unit to achieve the goal. In this paper, a case of the ALICE TPC, a particle detector planned to upgrade during the second long shutdown ended in 2020, is studied to describe the design and future issues of a new-generation data acquisition system. |
