Stepped Impedance Resonator Based Tunable Combline Bandpass Filter with Wide Tuning Range of Center Frequency by Single DC Power Supply

(in English) This paper proposes a tunable combline type of bandpass filter (BPF) using stepped impedance resonator(SIR) with wide tuning range of center frequency by a single DC power supply. The tunable BPF is designed to obtain the desired coupling coefficient and external Q-factor for the change in center frequency based on filter design theory. The proposed BPF is configured using microstrip line structure and frequency characteristics using an electromagnetic field simulator. Furthermore, the BPF is fabricated using high frequency printed circuit board, varactor diode and chip elements. Experimental results show that the fabricated BPF is capable of adjusting the center frequency up to 1.40 - 2.13 GHz while keeping the passband width at 204-232 MHz.
