[Invited Talk] Recording, Measuring, and Reproduction for Acoustic Virtual Reality -- The Research at the Center for Ultra Realistic Audio Technology --

(in English) This paper presents the contents of the research at the Research Center for Ultra Realistic Audio Technology to realize the acoustic virtual reality. From the recording of the sound source, how to measure the Room transfer function of the concert hall, how to reproduce the virtual sound field, and how to compensate the characteristics of the microphone and loudspeaker are explained. Recording of the sound source is performed by dividing the solid angle according to the direction of radiation of the sound source. The measurement of the RTF of a desired space is performed by taking into account the radiation direction of the sound source and the direction of the listener's incidence without using the omnidirectional loudspeaker and the omnidirectional microphone. In order to eliminate the characteristics of the microphone and the speaker, a transfer function of a pair of a microphone and a speaker is measured and used for compensation. The purpose of the research is to hear the virtual sound as close as possible to the actual sound heard in a specific space.
