Proposal of Underwater Wireless Power Transfer with Electric Coupling Method

(in English) In this paper, underwater wireless power transfer with electric coupling method is proposed. First, by using 3D electromagnetic simulation, the S-parameters of the parallel plate coupler are calculated in tap water. Then, the maximum available efficiency is derived from the S-parameters. Based on the result, the frequency which represents the maximal value of the efficiency is revealed. Further, the elevation of the efficiency in association with the reduction in the electrode area is illustrated . The elevation is elucidated by using the frequency characteristics of dielectric loss of water. Finally, more than 60% of power transfer efficiency is experimentally achieved.
