Information transmission method on shogi in the visually impaired

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page) 
(in English) The study showed the difference of information transmission method among four different surfaces of shogi board. Shogi puzzles were set using shogi board for visually impaired people, reading, tactile graphics, and using both reading and tactile graphics. The results showed that the response to reading was the most accurate and had the shortest response time. In addition, depending on the skills of braille reading, the voice reading the information of a piece may interfere the input from tactile graphics.
