A low side lobe level pattern in a phased array antenna is desired for the radar systems. The phase shifter control type time modulated array antenna has been studied to achieve low side lobe pattern at low cost. Desired pattern can be accomplished in a time average procedure by temporally controlling of each element phase. In conventional work, this technique has been mainly applied to phased array antenna for reduction of the sidelobe levels. From a practical point of view, this paper take into account the application for the radar system. In this paper, it is presented that a study on application of the time modulated array antenna to the pulse doppler radar system. The effectiveness of applied the time modulated array antenna for the pulse doppler radar is demonstrated by computer simulation. |
