Transmission Performance for SDM-PON Using Clipped Sending Scheme -- Wavelength Interval of 200 GHz and Subcarrier Frequency Interval of 0.8 GHz --

(in English) To economically provide higher bit rate services to users, we proposed the Subcarrier Digital Modulation Passive Optical Network (SDM-PON). To make the sending optical power effective we proposed the clipped signal sending scheme for SDM-PON, along with three methods for restoring the original QAM signal at the receiving side. We so far showed SDM-PON with the clipped signal sending scheme can support up to 24 ONUs when each ONU constantly sends 1 Gbps using 16 QAM with the subcarrier frequency interval of 1.0 GHz and wavelength interval of 200 GHz. This paper adopts interval of 0.8 GHz so that the maximum subcarrier frequency does not exceed 30 GHz, and also adjusts the amplitude of the optical modulator input (the clipped QAM signal) so as to effectively use the optical source power. We thus show that the SDM-PON using the clipped signal sending scheme can support up to 32 ONUs.
