Efficient inspection routes of expressway facilities -- A variation of the vehicle routing problem --

(in English) A lot of equipment (lighting, indicator board, etc.) are installed in each facility (service area, interchange etc.) on expressways.
Since expressway maintenance companies must carry out inspection a fixed period of time,
an algorithm making efficient inspection plans is needed.
We aim to produce efficient inspection plans for the equipment managed by NEXCO Engineering Niigata Company Limited and developed an algorithm.
The proposed algorithm and the saving method are implemented to produce inspection plans on the data provided by NEXCO Engineering Niigata.
Although the proposed algorithm is slightly inferior to the saving method, it produced a plan more efficient than the current inspection plan by manpower.
