In carrier network, NFV (Network Function Virtualization) is being studied. In NFV, various network functions realized with dedicated hardware so far are realized as software running on a general server. In legacy carrier network, the high available network functions adopt ACT-SBY system based on dedicated hardware. So ACT-SBY system based on virtual machine is needed to keep carrier grade high availability. More specifically, in the ACT-SBY configuration of the VM level, it is necessary not to arrange the ACT VM and the SBY VM on the same HW in preparation for HW failure and moreover the preparation method of the spare resource consideration is necessary to gain merit of virtualization, such as auto-healing.
Therefore, regarding the arrangement to save up for HW trouble or reserve resource preparation method for the 2 VM of the ACT-SBY configuration of this study, a few methods of distributing or concentrating the destination HW using the number of running VMs is taken as an example, and each method is compared and evaluated by simulation, And clarify the guideline on arrangement of VM deployment in the network leveraged NFV. |
