An Amplitude Error Compensation Method Using Amplitude Reference Pilot Signals for Ultra-multi-level-PAM-SSB-DFTs-OFDM

(in English) We have been proposing Ultra-multi-level PAM-SSB-DFTs-OFDM (Single Side Band DFT spreading OFDM) scheme to achieve higher spectrum efficiency. PAM-SSB-DFTs-OFDM scheme is suitable for ultra-multi-level modulation because it has low PAPR and robustness against reference carrier phase error. However, BER performance degradation due to amplitude error is as large as that of QAM signals. Therefore, amplitude error compensation is required to improve BER performance degradation caused by amplitude error. This report proposes an amplitude error compensation method using amplitude reference pilot signals and evaluates BER performance improvement by computer simulation when non-linear amplifier is used.
