Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In server migration service (SMS), computers called work places (WPs) are deployed at various locations in a network, and servers for network applications (NW-Apps) may migrate between WPs to achieve better communication QoS. In order to improve profit of SMS providers, it is important to assign computing resource (capacity) to WPs as little as possible while providing good communication QoS with NW-App providers. In this paper, we consider WP capacity design problem where we determine where to deploy WPs in the network and how much capacity to assign to each of the deployed WPs in order to improve communication QoS of NW-Apps as much as possible under the assumption that the total capacity of WPs are given beforehand. In this paper, we propose two WP capacity design methods. Proposed method 1 deploys WPs with larger capacity to locations to which more
servers migrates. Proposed method 2 deploys WPs so that any location in the network can communicate with at least one WP with the QoS level required by NW-Apps.
