Transmission Performance of Visible Light Communications Using Saturated LEDs

(in English) This paper evaluates transmission performance in which LEDs are linearized and used in its saturation region in visible light communication by computer simulation. In this evaluation, OFDM signals are used and the LED linearization employs clipping followed by in-band filtering and pre-distortion. In addition, the use of saturated LEDs improves reception quality because of reception power increase. The results by computer simulation show that the combination of the linearization and saturated LEDs can improve the SNR of received OFDM signals by 4.3dB compared with that without the linearization at the CNR of 25dB.
