UF-DFT spread OFDM scheme for Long Delay Multi-path Environment

(in English) New waveforms capable of suppressing out-of-band emission (OOBE) and improving spectrum efficiency are required for the future 5th generation mobile communication systems. Currently, the Cyclic Prefix (CP)-DFT-spread OFDM scheme is widely used as an uplink transmission scheme in the long term evolution (LTE) due to its low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), while its high OOBE limits spectrum efficiency to some extent. For suppressing such higher OOBE, the Universal Filtered (UF)-DFT-spread OFDM scheme has been proposed. However, its short effective CP length deteriorates the communication quality in the long-delay multi-path fading environment. In this report, we propose an enhanced UF-DFT-spread OFDM scheme achieving significantly low OOBE and high communication quality in the long-delay multi-path fading environment. In addition, the advantage of the proposed scheme is discussed by simulating performance such as OOBE, PAPR and BLER characteristics with the LTE uplink parameters in the long-delay multi-path fading environment.
