The Design of Small Cell Based on Macro/Micro Cells Parameters and Consideration for256-QAM to Small Cells

(in English) This paper presents the design of small cells based on the parameters of existing micro and/or micro cell systems, and provides user throughput performance for designed several types of small cells. System level simulation results such as average and the 5-percentile user throughput performance are provided for the designed small cells. In the course of small cell design, we show how to decide the system parameters for small cells including transmission power and antenna tilt while maintaining the antenna height. We also evaluate the user throughput performance when 256-QAM is added to conventional modulation and coding scheme (MCS). By comparing with the use of conventional MCS up to 64-QAM, we discuss the improvement factor for the use of 256-QAM under different types of small cells we designed. This study will provide for designing small cells and an MCS when 256-QAM is implemented in future mobile communication systems.
