| (in English) | In recent years, video traffic has been increasing due to the huge demands for video streaming services. Peer-to-peer (P2P) video streaming services (P2PTV) have attracted attention as a solution to decrease the server load because P2P communication can distribute the video data to peers. However, the random peer selection mechanisms lead to the worldwide spread of P2PTV traffic, and thus it is a large issue to analyze the characteristics of P2PTV traffic. While several traffic measurements have revealed the characteristics of P2PTV traffic, these studies do not focus on how to model it. This paper examined the characteristics and prediction method of P2PTV traffic in P2PTV live streaming applications, PPTV, SopCast and PPStream. As a result, we achieved to reveal several characteristics of each P2PTV application. Furthermore, we modeled P2PTV traffic statistically by cumulative distribution functions (CDFs). Finally, we could reproduce the P2PTV traffic based on the model we obtained. | |
