Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, network to UE relay communication has been studied as a candidate technique to improve system capacity in the cellular systems. However, when the network to UE relay communication is extended to multi-hop device-to-device (D2D) communication, interference among links of the same multi-hop D2D communication severely degrades the end-to-end (E2E) throughput. In this paper, a group-based resource allocation scheme is evaluated through system-level simulation in order to reduce such interference. As an example of the evaluation results, it is observed that the E2E throughput is improved by 22% when the D2D resource is divided into 4 groups, compared with the case without the proposed scheme. However, it is also observed that the E2E throughput is degraded by 8% when the D2D resource is divided into 2 groups. It is confirmed by further analysis that the degradation is occurred because the proposed scheme is not aware of dominant interfering links.
