In recent years, the research and development for the realization of the autonomous driving system is ongoing. Especially among them, the realization of more advanced autonomous driving system is expected by combining the sensor information with the V2I information at the vehicles. There is a possibility that the dead zone occurs when some infrastructures transmit the autonomous driving supporting information at the same time in the environment where there is the barricade, e.g. the sound barrier wall. In this paper, we propose the dead zone reduction scheme for V2I using transmit delay diversity. We show the field test results using IEEE802.11p transceivers at the test course simulating the highway interchange, and show the proposed scheme can reduce the dead zone and approximately double the V2I communication distance. |
