Oblique effect of vection and optokinetic nystagmus

(in English) In the last VR Psychology conference, we reported that vection strengths induced by oblique optical flow were weaker than by vertical and horizontal flows. Some previous studies reported that vection strength correlate to the gain of optokinetic nystagmus (OKN). Then, in this study, we recorded the gains of OKN during observing optical flow moving to horizontal, vertical and oblique directions. The results showed that, observing the upward flow, the gain of OKN was clearly stronger but the gain of OKN were similar in the other directions. This indicates that vection strength does not correlate to OKN in the oblique effect of vection strength.
