The influence of voluntary head movements on visual awareness -- A study of continuous flash suppression --

(in English) Here we studied the influence of voluntary head movements on the effects of continuous flash suppression (CFS) with Head Mounted Display. CFS were flashed to the participant’s dominant eye, and optic flow were presented to the other eye. The direction or speed of optical flow relative to the participant’s voluntary head movements was variously changed. When both were congruent, CFS was broken more rapidly than when they were incongruent. We argue that voluntary head movements facilitates the spatially congruent visual awareness.
