Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In software development, it is important to manage uncertainty. So we need to understand how uncertainty arises and how it is dealt with in actual projects. In this paper, focusing the frequency of updating the code, we analyzed Git repositories of OSS projects in order to reveal the arising process and the cause of uncertainty. The result showed some facts:1) In the uncertainty arising process, among uncertainty whose frequency of updating the code is in the top 10% of the projects,50% of them have to do with the specification decisions, while 30% of them have to do with the implementation strategy decisions.2) In the uncertainty resolution process, the code is updated on average of 3.86 times until the uncertainty is resolved. On 7% of the entire uncertainty, the code is updated more than 10 times.
