Integrated Data Access to Heterogeneous Data Stores for Storage Services

(in English) The authors are developing a cloud platform that can also be applied to the IoT (Internet of Things) applications. The IoT cloud need to deal with various data depending on applications and purpose of use. Depending on the type and volume of data, the IoT cloud necessarily use heterogeneous data store system in a mixed manner. For example, relational databases and NoSQL databases have different connection methods and query languages, which complicates system design and increases development costs. We took an approach to introduce a common data access component that absorbs the connection method and the query language differences. This allows us to develop applications without worrying about data store differences and later replacements. In the implementation, we used a proprietary data access object and Apache MetaModel. In this paper, we describe details of these data access methods and implementations, and show the results of performance evaluation.
