Smart meter and Internet of Things (IoT) has engendered the increase in the amount of data and the advance in data analytics, which has led to a growing demand for applications and services based on data analytics and secondary usage of time-series data such as electricity consumption data. In analyzing such data, it is essential to deal with missing values in data acquisition and communication. Inference accuracy of these values depends on how often and how long they occur in case of applying a simple interpolation technique such as Listwise deletion and linear interpolation. In this paper, a novel interpolation method using a cyclic feature of time series data is proposed and compared with the other interpolation methods to evaluate its interpolation accuracy. |
