Throughput Performance of Adaptive Selection Method of MCS Selection Table Based on Fading Correlation for OFDM-MIMO Multiplexing

(in English) This paper proposes an adaptive selection method of the best modulation and coding scheme (MCS) selection table based on the measured fading correlation using reference signals, and investigate the throughput performance of the proposed method for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) - multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) spatial division multiplexing (SDM). Computer simulation results show that the proposed adaptive selection method of the best MCS selection table achieves almost identical throughput level to that of the outer-loop control method which adjusts the MCS selection threshold based on the block error of each resource block. It is also shown that the adaptive selection method of the best MCS selection table with 5 tables achieves the same throughput level to that of the outer-loop control method for the maximum Doppler frequency up to approximately 350 Hz.
