A Study on Biometrics EEG by Inaudible Auditory Stimulation

(in English) We have proposed to use the electroencephalogram (EEG) for person authentication. The EEG is generated spontaneously from the brain, and can be detected by attaching the electrodes on the scalp. Therefore, it becomes highly confidential information. We try to use EEGs evoked by auditory stimuli in continuous user verification of systems. However, perceivable auditory stimuli obstruct users’ working. Thus, we propose to use the evoked potential from stimulation that cannot be perceived. We evaluate the verification performance using the power spectrum of the EEG by Euclidean distance. In experiments using 10 subjects, the EER of 22% was obtained when we used evoked EEG from AF3.
