A Study on Design of Two-Layered Pseudo-Noise Code for Optical-Wireless Code Shift Keying/Synchronous CDMA

(in English) In this paper, a design of two-layered pseudo-noise (PN) code for optical-wireless code shift keying
(CSK) is considered. One of the important issues encountered in optical-wireless CSK systems is to design a PN
code for enhancing code division multiple access (CDMA) capability and a ratio N/L between the number of codes
(N) and the PN code length (L). In this paper, a code shift keying system using two-layered PN codes which consist
of outer-codes with M chips and inner-codes with W chips is proposed. Since the receiver of the proposed system
can use the two-step demodulation scheme, it is expected that the proposed system suppress the performance
degradation caused by co-channel interference. Consequently, N/L of the proposed system achieves more than 1.
Moreover, when the length of the inner code is NI and the length of outer code is No, the proposed system can
accommodate NI users without co-channel interference in synchronous CDMA.
