Recently, domestic electricity consumption increases due to the spread of home appliances accompanying the improvement of living standards. The Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan reported that using cooling and heating operation of air conditioners accounted for nearly 30% of the electricity consumption at home. In addition, there are various factors that affect the indoor environment. It is a problem as health damage caused by indoor air environment, such as heat shock by temperature difference between rooms at home, breeding of viruses and mold in excessive dry and moist air. As described above, reduction of power consumption and improvement of home thermal environment are very important. To these problems, IoT (Internet of Things) is expected as a solution. In this study, operation mode of home appliances such as air conditioner, humidifier and circulator are controlled by the device using Arduino, sensors, and infrared communication modules. In the summer experiments, control to change air conditioning and dehumidification and air volume control of the air conditioner were performed. In the winter experiments, the set temperature control of the air conditioner, the strong and weak control of the humidifier, and ON / OFF control of the circulator were performed. In order to evaluate the quality of the indoor environment, the calculation of discomfort index DI and the presence of condensation on the glass surface and wall were monitored in the experiment room. In addition, power consumption of the air conditioner is monitored to evaluate the energy efficiency. By comparing obtained data, it is clarified that the OSHW can be utilized for control system of home appliances. |
