Answering system based on summarization cost and contradiction detection for Japanese university entrance exams about World History

(in English) We have proposed an answering system for NTCIR-12 QALab-2.
The task was the Japanese task about National Center Test and Mock exams.
The method, which was named as KitAi-QA, was based on a scoring method with contradiction detection.
The scoring is to detect the evidence for the next process, namely answer selection, from textbooks.
In this paper, we introduce new features into KitAi-QA for the improvement.
The first feature is based on a summarization process.
We compute some summarization costs, and then incorporate them into KitAi-QA.
The second feature is an extension of the contradiction detection.
In the experiment, the proposed method increased the accuracy.
The result shows the effectiveness of our method.
