Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A multimode resonator is one of the promising solutions to downsize the base station filter. However, minimization of the filter decreases the unloaded Q factor. This paper presents the quadruple-mode resonator that reduces the deterioration of unloaded Q factor. First, it is revealed that the cavity resonant frequency with the suppression of the deterioration in the unloaded Q factor can be handled by arranging the metal columns at the maximum amplitude of electric field standing wave in the cavity resonance mode. Then, the structure of the quadruple-mode resonator with 4 metal columns is proposed. The proposed resonator has the unloaded Q factor of around 5,000 at the volume of approximately 260 cm3.
