Investigation of the fabrication method of bone phantoms for ultrasonometry
Shohei Nakata, Masahiro Ohno (Chiba Inst. of Tech.) US2017-21
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We are attempting to make bone phantoms that can be used as standard samples in ultrasonometry. Three dimensional data of cancellous bone structures were generated from X-ray CT data of artificial polymers or from purely numerical calculation. Various bone phantoms, having different trabecular bone thicknesses, anisotropy and inhomogeneity, were fabricated using 3D printers. Ultrasonic scattering experiments were performed using these phantoms.
