Secret sharing is a method in which the source information is divided into n shares and the source information is reconstructed from any k shares but no knowledge of the source information is revealed from $k-1$ shares. This algorithm is called $(k, n)$ threshold scheme. In this study, a system combining these implementation methods is proposed. The proposed system has two group of shares, which are called group 1 shares and group 2 shares. The $(k, n)$ threshold scheme using exclusive OR operation divides the secret information into the group 1 shares. As an extension of the system, the systematic Reed-Solomon coding encodes these group 1 shares and generates the parity symbols which are the group 2 shares. The secret information is reconstructed by using exclusive OR operation of the group 1 shares with low complexity, and it is also reconstructed by Reed-Solomon decoding of the group 2 shares if the computational complexity is tolerated. Each share is the data of the distributed storage. Analysis results show the improvement of the system reliability. |
