We present practical MAC level throughput performance of wired and wireless network cooperation (NeCo) system, which realizes quick recover civilian telecommunication services in the aftermath of a catastrophic disaster. The proposed NeCo system achieves both rapid recovery and high throughput using wireless bypass routes backhauled by wired networks. We previously proposed linear programming based bypassing method considering wireless link throughput and verified its effectiveness achieving superior throughput performance compared to existing one. Meanwhile, its practical performance including upper layer behavior should be further investigated. As a wireless function, we assumed IEEE 802.11ac wireless LAN which can be mounted at low-cost with energy efficient for emergency use. This presentation evaluates its MAC level throughput via event-driven simulator implemented carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) behavior. Results confirm our proposed bypassing method can enhance system throughput compared to the existing one. |
