[Encouragement Talk] Capacity evaluation under channel estimation using unique word in multi-satellite/multi-beam MIMO systems

(in English) We have been studying the new multi-satellite/multi-beam system in single frequency reuse using MIMO (Multi-Input/Multi-Output) techniques for reduction of the interferences between multiple users sharing the same fre-quency in the system. We previously confirmed the channel capacity of multi-satellite/multi-beam satellite system in the ideal environment assuming perfect channel estimation and clarified the availability of proposed system. Then, we pro-posed a new configuration of channel estimator as well as transmitter and receiver suitable for this new system. This paper summarizes the transmission precoding, the receive equalization and the channel estimation and evaluates the practical channel capacity of the proposed system, and then finally concludes that the proposed system is superior to conventional ones from the viewpoint of channel capacity.
