Theoretical Analysis on Beam Scanning Characteristics for Curved Surface Array

(in English) We discuss radiation characteristics from conformal array with arbitrary shape. In order to scan beam of the array, it is necessary to calculate optical path length from each element to equi-phase front which is perpendicular to scanning beam direction near aperture. This calculation can be easily and generally expressed by introducing the direction cosine relation between the beam direction and the each element. And by using this calculation result and array factor theory, we can easily calculate scanning radiation patterns from conformal array antenna, for example, on bonnet or roof of a car with curved rectangular patch elements. In this paper, we show curved surface expressed generally with polynomial, and scanning radiation patterns from the curved surface. Furthermore, we made MATLAB GUI to automatically calculate such as the scanning radiation pattern. Moreover, we show curvature of the curved surface with arbitrary shape.
