Design Method of Meta-surface for Broadband Reflected Wave Reduction

(in English) A meta-surface composed of FSS (Frequency Selective Surface) and the ground plane is an artificial surface that can control a reflection coefficient and a reflection phase of electromagnetic waves. A method for reducing the reflected wave by using several types of meta-surfaces has been studied. This paper clarifies a design method of a meta-surface to realize broadband reflected wave reduction. The configuration of the meta-surface using a patch type FSS and the other using a loop and patch type FSS is proposed in order to realize broadband reflected wave reduction. As a result, 75.7% of a relative bandwidth within a reflection amplitude -10 dB or less is obtained by the proposed meta-surface. It is showed that the proposed configuration realizes the reflected wave reduction in broad frequency band more than the conventional configuration which composed of PEC (Perfect Electric Conductor) and the patch type FSS.
