Time reversal is an effective method for channel equalization in underwater acoustic communication. Its temporal and spa-tial focusing efficiently can compensate intersymbol interference (ISI). Additionally, time reversal is a promising solution also for multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) communication or multi user communication by realizing space division multi-plexing (SDM) based on its focusing effect. In this study, the performance of adaptive time reversal for SDM communication is investigated based on simulation and real data, comparing with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). As results, it is demonstrated that adaptive time reversal has a much better performance than OFDM with SDM combiner. |
