In mode division multiplexing transmission, the spatial mode demultiplexing technique is required on the receive side. A volume holographic demultiplexer (VHDM) provides the mode demultiplexing function with a single device by utilizing angularly multiplexed volume holograms. On the other hand, utilization of dual-wavelength method is necessary to operate the VHDM in optical transmission bands because typical holographic mediums have no sensitivity in the infrared region. In this research, we performed the experiment on the mode demultiplexing at the wavelength of 850 nm. Moreover, we detected complex amplitude distributions of output beams by using a Fourier fringe analysis and estimated separation characteristics. |
