In our laboratory, we have been developing and reporting a coiled stator ultrasound motor (CS-USM) for medical application like intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) device. However, the wave propagation on an acoustic waveguide has not been investigated sufficiently in our conventional study. In this paper, we analyzed the sound velocity of the wave propagation on the straight flat plate acoustic waveguide by three dimensional finite element method (FEM) simulation. As results, the elastic waves having vibration displacement in the thickness direction showed dispersion characteristics corresponding to a1 and a0 modes plate waves (Lamb waves) in the acoustic waveguide. |
