This paper presents a demonstration test of a 3D imaging radar system developed for non-destructive inspection of wooden house walls. The radar system is a multistatic linear array step-frequency radar system at 10-20GHz, composed of one-dimensional array antenna (32 transmitting and 32 receiving antennas which are resistively loaded printed bowtie antennas), and able to acquire the frequency domain data for all the transmitting and receiving antenna pairs. The radar can output the 3D images of braces in wooden house wall using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) processing. Using this radar, we measured some models imitating typical outer walls of Japanese wooden houses and demonstrated that the radar system can clearly image the 3D images of braces in the wall models. |
