Aiming to provide sign language services to the hearing impaired using an easy-to-understand sign language CG, we propose a connection method of the motion unit in which hand movements of the CG character are smooth. To compare and evaluate the difference between the proposed method and the conventional method, we have developed a sign language CG generation system that can select a connection method. We conducted an experiment on reading the animation of fingerspelling and analyzed the correct answer rate. The results of the experiment confirmed that the smoothness of the hand movements improved the understandability of the sign language. |
