| (in English) | A prototype TeleHead system was implemented by combining a table-top human-type robot and a head-mounted display (HMD). The head movements of a user can be tracked three dimensionally by the HMD and the head of the robot can move synchronously with the head movement in real-time. Plastic figures of the bilateral pinnae, in which a small condenser microphone was inserted, were attached at each side of the robot's head and collected sound was presented to the user by a headphone. Since the proposed system was built with the commercial robot and HMD, it can provide spatial audio experiences considering the head motion of the user at a relatively low cost. |
