| (in English) | Visual system has two modes to pay attention to an object. One is the overt attention that is to pay attention by moving eyes to the object. The other is the covert attention that is to shift attention without gazing. Using a brain response called SSVEPs enable us to observe the covert attention. However, the SSVEP responses increase by the overt attention while the responses are unclear for the covert attention (peripheral vision). Because visual performance in central and peripheral vision are different, the responses for the overt and covert attentions could be different. This study measures SSVEP responses evoked by stimuli with various flickering frequencies and eccentricities. We discuss suitable stimuli to observe the covert attention. | |
