Demonstration of Optical-to-Wireless Media Conversion by Using Photomixing and Cross Gain Modulation

(in English) We devised the seamless media conversion system from an optical network to a THz-wave network utilizing the photomixing and the cross gain modulation (XGM) at the semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). In this report, we measured the XGM characteristics at SOA and evaluated the media conversion system by the data transmission at the frequency of the micro-wave region. Furthermore, we successfully transmitted the 1Gbit/s data at the frequency of 300GHz with our devised media conversion system.
