In recent years, several ways for THz wave generation mechanism have been proposed and developed aggressively. The THz wave is required in many fields such as data communication technology, security, and so on. We have focused on Smith Purcell Radiation (SPR) as the one of solution to emit high frequency wave. Since this SPR has more effective respects as a generation mechanism of THz waves. We also had proposed SPR using pre-bunch electron beam. When a single electron pulse could interact with an evanescent wave on metal circuit, all spontaneous emission have same phase and could interfere with each other, as a result, the output power would be squared value of the case using a continuous electron beam.
In this study, as a method for a short pulse bunch e-beam formation, alkali photocathode was adapted. In recent years, multi-alkali photocathode using two or more kinds of alkali metals have attracted attention. Multi-alkali photocathode is high durability, and high quantum efficiency is expected.
In order to realize the superradiant, the cathode with response time less than 30 psec is required. We use Sb-Cs photocathode as a generation method of short pulse bunch beam. In this report, I manufacture the photoelectric mask using Sb-Cs and investigate the most suitable condition of board temperature and the vapor deposition film thickness and show the result that I evaluated. |
