In this paper, we investigate the influence of user mobility in our previously reported online probabilistic transmission power control of BSs. In the reported method, algorithm of this method defines limited set of candidate transmission power levels and application probability of each candidate transmission power level is updated based on the time variation in the system throughput and the temporal transmission power states of each BS. As a result, the system throughput can be enhanced due to appropriately reduced inter-cell interference. The reported method is practical compared to the conventional approaches, since the reported method does not rely on a priori knowledge of probability distributions of user locations or the traffic load in the entire system coverage. However, the evaluation of the reported method in the previous work does not consider the user mobility. In this paper, by using the computer simulation, we evaluate the system throughput performance of our reported method under the user mobility environment. The performance of the reported method is dependent on the update period of transmission power control. However, when we assume the pedestrian environment, it is shown that the update period of approximately 100 ms is sufficient to achieve most of the potential performance gain of the method. |
