A piece-wise constant neuron model is an electronic circuit neuron model having a piece-wise constant vector field. By adjusting the nonlinearity of a voltage controlled current source, the model exhibits various bifurcations. These bifurcations can be analyzed rigorously based on properties of the piece-wise constant vector field. Using the analysis results, a design method of the vector field of the model is introduced. Then effectiveness of the design method is validated by numerical and circuit experiments. |
