[Invited Talk] Introduction of Information and Communications Technology into Agriculture Aiming at Regional Revitalization

(in English) Tokyo centralization is one of the social issues that Japan is facing, and regional revitalization is necessary measures to solve this issue. Focusing on agriculture as an industry to take advantage of the characteristics of the region, Japanese government is featuring cooperation enhancement between agriculture and other industries through “sixth industry”, for example. One main challenge that agriculture is facing now is, however, decrease and aging of farmers and one possible way to tackle with this issue is swift introduction of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) into agriculture. In this paper, we report ICT supportive experiments for planting processes of a kind of pear “Le Lectier”.
